Who the heck is this Sean Milligan guy?
Hopefully you haven’t landed on this page first, as that would be an unfortunate landing. BUT, here goes…I’ve lived most of my life in Florida, and have been in South Florida now for 20 or so of those years. I consider myself a leader, educator, mentor, designer, creator, singer, video producer, runner, chef, and I’m always trying to add to my list of experiences. Can you tell I don’t sit still real well? I have a partner with whom I share my life, and we love to travel, attend live music concerts, eat at nice restaurants, hang with good friends and family, and generally enjoy every bit of life that we can.
Where I came from…
Well, my parents me, they kinda liked each other and then this stork showed up. Oh wait…that’s another story. I’m originally from the Boston area (Waltham, to be specific), and my family moved to Florida when I was quite young. I’m still an avid Boston Red Sox fan, and my teaching side hustle gets me back to Boston on a pretty regular basis.
I’ve traveled the country and the world a lot for business and pleasure, I’ve come in second in a “What Freedom Means to Me” speech contest, hiked to the rim of Mt St Helens, placed 5th in an international barbershop quartet competition, run a half marathon, attained the PMP certification and the MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator) certification, serenaded Bea Arthur and Betty White, drank from the Fountain of Youth, jumped out of three perfectly good airplanes, and now I’ve jumped into the blogosphere.
Remember when I said I don’t sit still well?

How I got here…
Wait, didn’t we just talk about the stork and…oops, not the point here, sorry. There’s more about my path to this blog in the Why This Blog? page, but to boil it all down quickly: big bundle of trouble as a young boy, A.A. in English, B.A. in Technical and Professional Writing, 30 years in the Project Management and Professional Services realm and a path to leadership, M.S. in Project and Program Management, found a calling as an educator, have had an awesome ride through learning how to create and deliver content online, and here I am. Whew!
What gets me motivated…
Funny how that answer changes as we progress through life, huh? At this point in my life, I’m heavily motivated by sharing the knowledge and experiences I’ve gained in my career with others…specifically with the folks I lead professionally, the students I teach and mentor, and anyone who cares to read this blog and get something out of my experiences.
I’d love for you to take a look around, comment on the content here, share anything you believe is worth sharing, and subscribe to my email list.
